Scythe ninja 3 am3 installation

The settings can vary quite a bit but normally you would have three settings like Performance, Optimal and Quiet. You need to set your PWM settings to the quietest settings available in your BIOS and that will reduce the overall power going to the fan enabling slower, quieter speeds. Ninja 3 Rev. Features New and improved Ninja! Specifications Ninja 3 Rev. Customer Reviews. Ninja 3 excellent! It just makes sense to throw a couple of clips on on a cooler that is advertised and reviewed as supporting multiple fans!

Overall Review: It took me longer to select the CPU cooler than it did to select any other component in my build. I eliminated the direct contact pipes units, because newer reviews seemed to favor solid bases, especially on 45 nm CPUs. I like the multiple pipes in both directions to avoid hot spots.

I wanted a cooler that had bulk and cheap fan capacity as apposed to fancy engineering. The cooling performance is more than I will ever need and at a mid range price!

Pros: More than I needed, just wanted it. Is huge, very quiet. I really like the fan control knob. I can run at low range with PWM. This allows lower fan rpm and keeps things really quiet. If I want to step the fan range up, I can. See the 2 fan speed ranges on detail page in Newegg, it's really variably, not just 2 ranges. I really wanted a quite cooler with horsepower when I want it. This is an excellent answer. It even dropped my motherboard temp a bit..

Pros: Cools CPU, looks nice, heatsink face is polished to a mirror finish and is protected for shipping, comes with everything you need to install on MB. Installtion was easy, look at other thoughts for more information. One head to head review I read out of 25 heatsinks and fans and waterblocks only three were better at cooling and two of them were waterblocks and only a couple of degrees difference.

Read other thoughts to see what difference I had. Cons: It is big, both width, length, and height. I could only install the fan on the heatsink towards the top or the bottom of the case because of the clearance for the memory sticks or the fan on the southbridge heatpipes ASRock FX Deluxe 3 MB.

Also it is so tall it would hit the fan mounted on the side panel Xcilio Color full case. The supplied fan will make some noise at full speed but you can spow the speed down by the supplied fan control.

I knew it was big from the other reviews so still 5 eggs because this thing works. Temps hovered around 55 - 58C. Removed the MB to remove and install the heatsinks and fans. Next removed the stock heatsink and fan and cleaned the CPU with the supplied cloth from Indigo. Followed the installation instructions and installed the Ninja heatsink.

Found it easier to put the heatsink face up and place the MB on top to install by yourself, MB lighter than heatsink. Placed the MB back into my case and again followed the instructions to get maximum cooling from the reflow of the thermal interface. Once the reflow was complete about 15 minutes I connected the fans and rebooted.

The temps came down and stabilized to 46C with the CPU fan running - rpm. Other than being so big this thing cools the CPU. Pros: performance is up there with the best heat sinks and probably only falls short of any top heat sink by 5 degrees centigrade. Really very good cooling once installed, for 39 dollars the price as of writing this review you won't find a better performing cooler!

According to Scythe, that translates into 7 per cent more heat removal compared to a cooler like the previous Ninja. The cooler is equipped with a mm-ventilator that can be regulated with the help of an included fan-controller in RPM from to RPM with noise levels varying from 7 to 37dBA depending on your preference.

An improvement over the previous series is the new mounting system, Scythe marketed that up a little and calls it Super Flip Mount Back-Plate 2. The revised design of the back-plate offers increased compatibility.

The Ninja 3 is a big cooler at xxmm but with a recommended retail price of approximately 40 euro this is one cooler we definitely needed to review, let's go check it out. AMD Radeon Adrenalin
